LogMeIn Data Protection Suite: Examining the Protections GoTo and Acronis’ Partnership Brings MSPs

LogMeIn Data Protection Suite, powered by Acronis, offers powerful business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities for LogMeIn Resolve, streamlining endpoint management, protection, and recovery.

GoTo and Acronis have announced a partnership that will allow MSPs to keep the growing complexity of UC deployments secure with new capabilities.

“IT teams and Managed Service Providers today are tasked with managing incredibly complex environments, and that means endpoint management, backup, and disaster recovery are often handled in separate, siloed platforms,”

Joseph George, General Manager of IT Solutions Group at GoTo, said.

The collaboration focuses on further enhancing endpoint management and security capabilities for IT professionals across SMBs and MSPs with the launch of the new LogMeIn Data Protection Suite.

The MSP Complexity Challenge

MSPs today operate in increasingly complex IT environments, especially as UC deployments expand across diverse platforms and endpoints.

They are responsible for managing, securing, and maintaining a wide array of devices and cloud services for multiple customers, often using a patchwork of separate tools for endpoint management, backup, and disaster recovery.

This siloed approach creates operational inefficiencies and exposes MSPs to significant risks.

Statistics on MSPs’ Offerings

  • 44.9% of MSPs offer disaster recovery services
  • Cybersecurity threats dominate 59.7% MSP concerns for the near future
  • Over 50% of MSPs believe remote work solutions will be the primary growth driver

“Lack of integration across these silos, however, can lead to missed backups, inconsistent policies applied across devices, and delayed disaster recovery responses,” George said.

The lack of integration between these critical systems not only increases the workload for MSPs but also makes it harder to maintain compliance and deliver reliable business continuity for their clients.

This fragmented landscape leaves MSPs particularly vulnerable to cyberattacks, data loss, and prolonged downtime following system failures.

Without unified visibility and control, even routine tasks like scheduling backups or restoring data can become error-prone and time-consuming, amplifying the risk of costly service disruptions.

The partnership between GoTo and Acronis directly addresses these pain points with their new centralized platform, LogMeIn Data Protection Suite.

LogMeIn Data Protection Suite

Powered by Acronis, LogMeIn Data Protection Suite unifies endpoint management, backup, and disaster recovery by bringing together LogMeIn Resolve’s unified endpoint management (UEM) capabilities with business continuity and disaster recovery tools from Acronis.

“We’ve partnered with Acronis to create a solution to these challenges with the new LogMeIn Data Protection, delivering a connected, scalable experience that dramatically reduces risk, complexity, and time to incident response,” George explained.

It also extends LogMeIn Practical AI capabilities to the Acronis data and tool environment.

Key features of the new offering include:

Centralized endpoint management, backup scheduling, and agent deployment—all from a single Resolve console

Flexible backup configuration options, supporting file-level, disk-level, image, and application backups to fit specific customer or organizational needs

Automated backup scheduling with customizable policies for start times, frequency, and recurrence

Comprehensive protection for cloud environments, including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365

Rapid system recovery using historical backup snapshots to minimize downtime after cyberattacks, data loss, or system failures

Scalable, multi-tenant management tools built for MSPs handling multiple client environments

In addition to the new LogMeIn Data Protection Suite, Acronis BCDR customers will gain a new native integration from the partnership to simplify backup and recovery workflows, deploy backup agents on devices, and configure custom schedules directly from Resolve.

“Together, we’ve integrated Acronis’ backup, disaster recovery, and endpoint detection and response capabilities directly into LogMeIn Resolve, creating a more unified, efficient experience for MSPs and IT professionals,”

Fernanda Silva, Senior Alliances Manager at Acronis, said.

By streamlining these core functions and automating critical workflows, MSPs can reduce complexity, minimize risk, and respond to incidents more rapidly.

This will ultimately strengthen their ability to protect client data, maintain service continuity in the face of growing threats, and keep customers happy.

LogMeIn Suite of Services

The new LogMeIn Data Protection Suite is the first phase of the new strategic partnership between GoTo and Acronis.

Both companies are keen to stress additional integrations and updates in the months ahead designed to strengthen endpoint management and data protection.

This follows a pattern for GoTo with their LogMeIn suite.

LogMeIn, specifically LogMeIn Resolve and LogMeIn Rescue, is one of GoTo’s flagship products.

As a result, the company has been continuously updating it to add more features and offerings in a bid to retain and attract new customers.

Already this year, the LogMeIn suite has seen two updates to its LogMeIn Rescue and LogMeIn Resolve solutions.

Aiming to reduce average handle time, Rescue’s new AI capabilities automate routine tasks and add analytics insights to minimize average issue handling time and improve first-call resolution rates for support teams.

LogMeIn Resolve’s update features Virtual Technician, Command Center, and Dynamic Insights to streamline workflows and resolve issues faster.
