The Z-Wave Alliance is celebrating the launch of Trident IoT, a technology and engineering company with a key focus on streamlining RF development and reducing time-to-market for manufacturers of connected devices.
Trident IoT will directly cater to Z-Wave Alliance members by offering Z-Wave silicon chips and modules, and bespoke product design and development services. Most notably, the company will also serve as a US-based Z-Wave device certification laboratory.
This multi-faceted approach positions Trident IoT as an integral partner for businesses seeking seamless integration of Z-Wave Technology into their products.
Mitch Klein, Executive Director of the Z-Wave Alliance, said:
“Trident IoT further fosters the development of new features, enhancements, and custom applications on Z-Wave Technology by offering connected device manufacturers a new direct source for Z-Wave chips and modules, along with personalised product engineering support and US-based Z-Wave certification.”
Klein, who has worked closely with the founders and engineers of Trident IoT over the past decade, emphasised the immense value this RF-specialised semiconductor partner brings to the industry.
Housed in New Jersey, Trident IoT’s operational Z-Wave certification lab is now operational and fully-equipped to conduct compliance testing of end products based on Z-Wave Plus and Z-Wave Plus v2 standards and specifications.
Numerous Z-Wave Alliance manufacturer members have already begun to reap the benefits of this new certification resource, with Trident IoT eagerly anticipating the influx of new devices for certification.
Mariusz Malkowski, CTO and Founder of Trident IoT, commented:

Today’s announcements mark a significant milestone not only for Z-Wave but also for the broader technology industry.
Mitch Klein reiterated the Z-Wave Alliance’s commitment to fostering innovation and expanding the Z-Wave device ecosystem, highlighting achievements such as the completion of the Open-Source Z-Wave initiative in 2022.
With the introduction of Trident IoT, developers now have a valuable additional resource to accelerate the journey of their Z-Wave devices to market.
